Local Crested Butte Weather

So you ask what’s the weather like in Crested Butte? Well one thing is for sure, the weather in the Gunnison Valley is always changing. The locals will tell you, “If you don’t like it, wait 15 minutes!” Summer in Crested Butte is the best. If you like clear blue skies with highs in the 70’s, yet perfect sleeping weather with lows in 30’s, then this is the place to be. You can expect a quick afternoon rain shower to blow in down the valley which usually ends with a rainbow overhead with the surrounding mountains in the background. The site is a photographer’s dream! Weather in the Winter is just as spectacular. Because the air is dry, it does not feel as cold as the thermometer may say! And unless its snowing, the sun is shining and keeps you warm! Expect highs in the 30’s while out playing in our winter playground of skiing and snowmobiling and evening lows in the single digits - perfect for sipping hot chocolate in front of the fireplace!
